Biography: Pauline Thompson, MBE, DWP

Lead Disability Specialist

Following an early career in mental health social work, she spent many years working in the voluntary disability sector before joining DWP in 1999. Pauline is Head of Disability and Professional Programmes Group in DWP’s Pension, Disability and Carers Service and has responsibility for disability education in PDCS.

Her responsibilities include delivering, with their partner the University of Chester, an accreditation programme for staff working in the DLA / AA decisionmaking community, a portfolio of disability programmes and advice and guidance on disability issues for staff.
