Biography: Emma Robinson
Senior Physiotherapist, Community MS Team, Walkergate Park Hospital
Emma Qualified from Brunel University, London, in 2003 and has been working specifically with neurological conditions, including MS, for the last 4 years. She worked on the neurosciences unit at Newcastle General on relocating to the North East and then South Shields Stroke Unit before starting with the Community MS Team last year.
Emma is a member of the North East ACPIN committee which organises courses, talks and events for other physiotherapists in the area who have a specific interest in neurological conditions.
Abstract
Exercise is part of a healthy lifestyle which can benefit everyone, including people with multiple sclerosis (MS). However MS affects you, appropriate activity can make a difference to managing and living with the condition.
In this talk, Julia Johnson, Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist and Emma Robinson, Senior Physiotherapist, will look at how you can find out about exercises and activities that meet your needs and abilities as a person living with MS.
They aim to provide you with some practical tips on how you can use activity to help stay as healthy and fit as possible and to improve some of your symptoms and their effects.
