Biography: Derek Laidler

Senior Physiotherapist

A senior physiotherapist who, for the past 5 years, has worked with people with MS and firmly believes that it is important to try and prevent physical problems developing rather than concentrating on dealing with them once established. As well as treating people with a full range of movement disorders, he has set up an exercise and education programme in the Northumberland area for people newly diagnosed with MS or those starting to develop movement problems.

Having recognised the benefits that Tai Chi can provide with balance or movement problems he has worked with Amanda on this, and other programmes.

Having a health professional give a simple and evidence based explanation of Tai Chi benefits helps people to understand and embrace this ancient martial art while Amanda gives instruction.
