Abstract

Intimate relationships form part of life for most people. Sexual difficulties and problems in relationships will affect many people at some time in their lives. However, the presence of a neurological condition such as MS increases the risk of such difficulties. There is often a reticence on the part of people and professionals to talk about these areas even though help is available for many types of difficulty.

In this talk, Dr Chandler will look at the impact of MS and related sexual problems on relationships, intimacy and sexuality. This talk is for anyone with MS, whether or not sexually active, in a relationship, heterosexual, lesbian, gay or bisexual. It explains how to recognise difficulties, how to seek help and what can be offered to help.
