About

MS Life, 12-14 June 2009, NewcastleGateshead

2009 is an exciting time for the MS Society and the second year of our five year 'Putting the pieces together' strategy, driving us forward to secure better services, support and information for people with MS.

MS Life was the biggest event for people affected by multiple sclerosis (MS) to be held in North East England. Two previous MS Life events have taken place in Manchester in 2006 and 2008.

Many people affected by MS feel access to information on current research into cause, care and cure is vital to the successful management of their condition and the challenges it presents.

MS Life creates an environment for people with the condition, as well as their families and carers, to share experiences with others and learn methods of coping with the impact MS can have in an informal and non medical setting. Visitors to previous MS Life events have left feeling empowered with a more confident outlook for the future.

MS Life has neurologists presenting the latest developments in MS research, including stem cells, immunology, vitamin D & genetics and disease modifying drugs. The audience are encouraged to ask questions.

Workshops at MS Life cover topics including fatigue, exercise, balance & walking. Our speakers have specialist knowledge and offer advice and suggestions on how best to manage your symptoms.

A very popular element to MS Life is the exhibition, where a cross section of organisations provide information on current services and products available to support people with MS.
